Flowers

Going back to the whole discussion on plants, I used to never have flowering plants.  Why?  Because I was so fearful I would kill them.  All I had was cactus, aloe, and grasses.  Now, I am flower crazy.  All I want is color in my yard.    Here are some of my favorite flowers in my yard.

I have a love affair with plants.  I wasn't always in love with plants though... I have parents that have major green thumbs. I am talking yard of the month and  yard of the year in our neighborhood green thumbs.  But slowly as we starting moving into our house and redoing the jungle that was the yard I learned how to care for plants and then I became obsessed.   Five years after moving into our house our front and backyard are finally a plant/butterfly/hummingbird haven. 

Needless to say, due to my love of plants, I love to take pictures of them.

Pet Portraits

I am really in to pet portraits.  Not the silly kind where you dress them up,  but natural shots of family pets.  My husband and I have two dogs and they are pretty much our babies.  I love taking pictures of them because each dog has their own personality.  Here are some that I shot this morning after the am shower we had.

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to my new photography blog!  I have always loved photography and taking pictures.  I have owned so many cameras and have boxes and boxes of pictures.  I also obsess over photography blogs and I have wanted to start my own photography business for a very long time.  I am by no means a professional photographer, I just really enjoy capturing people and things at the right moment. 

This blog will be for me to post my recent pictures and for me to practice my photography skills.  If you want to volunteer to be a model please comment or email me!  I really need the practice, but just know that your pictures will most likely end up on this blog! 

From time to time I will also post things that inspire me.   When I say "things" it runs the gauntlet from pictures, music, movies, plants, and people.
